GPS Painting Project
by Thom Koenders and Jory Kits
The aim of our project is to innovatively explore the potential of an android phone to create a paint drawing and walk (literally in our case) through a menu. The application is implemented in eclipse on the android platform. There is no extra library needed to run our program on any given android phone. We have used a Google Nexus One phone to develop and test our software.
Our application gives the user a innovative way of creating a drawing. The user can chose to draw either with the accelerometer or GPS. The user can also decide to go through a menu by either accelerometer or GPS.
The speed of the pointer for drawing and moving through our menu can be altered by skewing the phone vertically and/or horizontal. The more the phone is tilted towards the edges of the phone the faster the pointer moves.
A number of options are possible to modify in the menu. The menu is accessible by the menu-button. To enter a menu part you need to enter the square beneath the option text with the screen pointer. Every menu part can be exited by pressing the menu-button on your phone.
