Remarks of Tobias for week 4
After everybody presented their ideas for their usability study Tobias gave some additional suggestions for improving the studies:
- Ask your subjects to talk aloud, this will help you realize what they are thinking.
- Give your subject pre/post session questionaires. This allows you to get consistent information from your subjects. Some things to ask up front may be some general demographics and level of experience. Afterwards you could for example ask what they like/did not like or get other kinds of feedback.
- Use Likert scales for questions in your questionaire.
- Try to deduce patterns from the answers you get to your questions or maybe even from your results.
- Prepaire all material and be consistent when doing the study. This gives the most consistent results.
- Do a pilot study to test your setup (really use the actual setup!).
