Carnivorous plants

Pinguicula macroceras

English only English only
Found in the Canadian Rockies at three sites close to the Alberta-British Columbia border in Banff National Park and Yoho National Park during the end of June and beginning of July 2005. Some of the plants were still flowering but some had already finished. The classification as Pinguicula macroceras (and not as Pinguicula vulgaris) follows the second edition of Donald Schnell's book »Carnivorous Plants of the United States and Canada«. The plants were growing on creek deltas, creek banks, lake banks, and on wet cliffs.
